The toggles are for holding your faux fur pom pom onto the inside of your hat, and you will not see them when wearing your hat. Thread the strings of your pom pom throught the hat, then through the toggle, and pull the toggle tight. Tie the strings in a knot to keep them tidy, and then it's easy to remove the pom pom from your hat to swap it or wash it.
I often get asked if you feel the toggle on the inside of the hat, and having worn the hats with them in for hours at a time, I can oestly say that I do not notice them!
